How to prepare (Munakkay pickle) drum sticks pickle?
Ingredients for Drumsticks Pickle
15-20 mm drumsticks
1 Cup Oil
1 tbsp chilli powder
Curry Leaves (Karivepaku)
2 tsp Tamarind
Cumin Powder (jeelakarra)
1 tbsp Mustard seeds rai / sarson
salt to taste
How to Cook Drumsticks Pickle (Munakkaya Pickle in Avakaya Style)?
First Wash Drumsticks and cut into Peaces as shown in Image
Deep Fry drumsticks to all most cooked. Drain and keep aside.
Wash tamarind and boil with water till water evaporates and cool,then grind into smooth paste and keep a side.
Heat the oil in a kadhai till its smoking point and keep aside. When slightly cool, add the chilli powder, curry Leaves turmeric powder and mustard seed, mix well and sauté on a slow flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
In a mixing bowl add red chilli powder,methi-mustard-cumin powder and Now add the salt and drumstick pieces and mix well.
Store at room temperature for 5 days and use as required.
